Car looks absolutely amazing.
I find that it makes me a bit crazy to read all about open wheel heroics when I'm without a car so just saw the post tonight.
You're going to LOVE...
A properly painted, updated (or new) Stohr FB is hard to beat in the looks dept. Stunning!
Looks good. Consider making your locking gizmo for the diff a bit more robust. I'd at least have two pushrods, one on each side. Mine moved a lot until we added enough support. Mine had two going...
Just awesome stuff. Seriously cool, fantastic work. Wish I lived near you and could come help/ learn!
What's your budget for a car? For racing? Have a trailer, tow vehicle? Safety gear? SCCA Membership?
You can spend $9k on a regional FC or over $50k for a nice pro-level car with a bulletproof...
Wow, looks like fun.
Great work Mike and what a fantastic venue for March. Wonder who'll be renting....
The moderator in me wants to lock/ delete/ edit this thread for so many reasons.
IMHO best chances for these cars here would be for someone to import/ rent them. It would be a hoot to drive one....
From the diff to the wheels you'll use a half shaft- depending on the diff it may be standard 96 length, or you may need a custom length.
Are you asking how many splines? I can go count if you...
2hrs is just about a race weekend and test day. Figure a set of tires per to be "competitive", but just running around you can use them much longer.I know a couple of guys who run 30+ heat cycles....
"Chain wax" works great and does not make a huge mess.
Based on shifter opinions I'm guessing that people will not want to see restricted power but I do believe it's the best thing for the class.
Has not happened yet, but throw a Ducati or BMW motor...
Agree!
But not just go-pro's... he makes a fantastic diffuser amoung other things.

They move a lot more than you think. . I need to find a video for you...
Yes! Welcome to my life lately.
Selling a race car can definately be interesting... at least you still have a killer car.
Lots of good posts on this subject.
Best to do with some help, take your time and you'll have a fantastic seat.
I think you'll get tires with a good amount of rubber and if your not buying a "rare" tire he should have a decent inventory. I have received good bias tires from John in the past.
I'm just not...
You'll get 1/2 the story now...
Purchased a paid of used fronts from john. Had a conversation with him that I needed 2011 or later tires as these would be used a a test set rather than using my...
Want to equalize the field? How about something like this: Winner gets 10lbs, 2nd gets 7lbs, 3rd gets 5lbs for the next 3 races. Win 2 in a row and you get 20lbs for the next two, 10 for the 3rd...
Man. Is this still about shifters? ;)
Is anyone suprised a new motor is making more power? 1st there was a hyper expensive Duc, then the BMW... now a Kawi that no one has turned a lap with, never...
I purchased a new Zetec in a crate for $750....
You'd be better off buying the whole bike, and parting out everything but the engine. $10k sounds high.
Related company? Seem to remember reading they were one in the same...

Stan Clayton is Neil Boortz?
Looking good Jerry! :thumbsup::thumbsup:
What did they give the club in exchange for the forced advertisement?
Here's my experience withbrakes this year:
Started with the AP LD20s which worked great- but are heavy
Swapped to new ICP LD20s and they are quite a bit lighter. Ran them for 2 weekends- I...
Keeping the rpms down is what seems to be making the Suzukis last. This motor appears to be down on power except from 11,4 to 13k- would it even last?
Just does not seem like an advantage and you...
Testing at the ARRC 2012? ;)
This won't work at the track but works great in the garage. It's a Warn Pullz All mounted to a beam in the garage- I also use a metal support in the middle of the beam while lifting the car. I made...
Metal Supermarket will also have it in many different sizes.
Congrats Court!
Rather than having a shifter pole....

Thomas, the insulting parts of this thread was getting old, generally, and I fail to see how it adds anything productive. I could have easily quoted others so it's not just you.
It has pretty...

If we can't continue this conversation without personal insults the thread will be locked and your thread deleted. No more comments about whiners, babies, idiots, etc.

Your confusing concern and complaining. I'm not complaining and no longer have a vested interest in the class. My only interest is in it's success.
5k shifters is creep. Ever-evolving motors is...
This thread almost had a hint of productivity, then that died again.
The original philosophy of FB was high performance, low cost. Being that we saw 120 national entries vs 127 for DSR which...
Might be better to have a poll for open vs restricted shifter rules, although I'm sure that's what you meant...
(I merged the two threads)
What's the point? Change to open shifting and forget this whole mess.
Thought it was a disabled function?
Its not crazy logic. Your system has to be modified NOT to allow pre selected gear changes. I guess we should have included you in the rules committee as clearly Stan Clayton, Richard Pare, Lee...
Brian, clearly you and Wren are correct, it could be checked with training and the right tools. Thats not really the point.
My point is that the rules state devices that allow for pre selected...
The rule does not say that devices that are using pre determined gear changes are illegal, it says devices that allow for it are illegal. Don't like the rule? Have it changed.
This is the grey...
I stand corrected (at the time Pingle did not), they are both illegal. I'm glad we agree.
Nothing grey about the zetec or pectel ecu so I'm not sure thats a fair comparison. He is going to supply every region with the equipment and train the tech guys? If so, a rule change/ clarification...
The F2000 series does a fantastic job of tech. They plug into each ecu and have a program that identifies anything changed from the approved maps.
Maybe they check at the runoffs but I've never...
Pretty easy to see if a FF has a wing. Not easy to tell how a box is programmed.
Richard I remember you being on some of the calls when we discussed this very thing!
