Shouldn't the measuring tools be calibrated by certified calibration services to NIST traceable standards and recalibrated at appropriate intervals (like just before the Runoffs each year)?

Alternately padding such as rollbar or pipe insulation (if not GCR required padding) might be more convenient. I never use padding on me . . . just on the car.

Whether a seat insert is enough for seating positions will be relatively easy to determine prior to purchase. Make sure that feet reach pedals and driving shoes aren't too big or interfere with frame...

Or maybe he likes the FM better since many times they are faster than the fastest CM FF with a top tier driver? :D

Can a Solo Vee "fan" such as John or Johnny explain "why" there should be a competitive class for Solo Vees? AFAIK there is no other racing class in SCCA for these cars including Formula First....

I guess there is no doubt that you hit at least two cones on the slight chance the run wasn't a dnf. ;)

Actually, the "walls of cones" courses are a long time San Francisco area tradition and well liked, at least in the old days, by the locals. The pre SCCA rules defined the course with the white lines...

Also, how fresh were your tires? I assume 25A's.
