I'm replying just to help bump this over 7 year old post back up for you. I don’t have an answer for you but maybe someone will.
I'm going to bump this just in case someone has the info. I could use it too, but can't get to my car to measure it for the time being.
That was great!
I don't know the answer but Walt Wurzbach has been running a V8 mated to a Hewland for many years.
If that was your first real experience in a non street based car you were doing great! I personally don't like being on the track with street based cars. Not only do they have trouble seeing us, we...
You will have to go through the homologation process and they may or may not want the roll bar changed. When I bought mine I was considering a dual FS/FA homologation but have done nothing about it.
I hate to admit it but I don't know the bolt pin diameters and bolt circle for my wheels. Since I started this thread I haven't had a chance to get to the car and I was hoping one of the Dallara guys...
John, I think in my case what you're missing and I probably haven't said is that my car high centers within inches of the tires crossing the beavertail. I'm going to test it your way to see if I'm...
I'll be happy to share info with you. I'll have to dig out the specs on the engine, and can't put my hands on it at the moment. The car was originally Opel powered and at some point as I understand...
John F, that's interesting. I will have to experiment with lifting the gate with the car on it to see if I can make it work. It doesn't seem like it would work but I'm sure willing to take a shot at...
Lot's of great ideas. One thing is for sure, if I ever buy another trailer it will not have a beavertail. I do like the idea of the jacks or winch on he lift gate but with the beavertail it won't...
Beautiful! Congratulations! Happy to know it made it in good shape. The tires look wide in the pictures, are they 8 & 10" wide?
Charles, option one I love but the wallet won't allow it. (2) is an interesting idea, and (3) is something I'm working with.
Mikey, I wish I'd been smart enough not to buy a beavertail. Sadly, I...
Rick, another good suggestion. I actually do use stackable jack leveler / stabilizer pads under the trailer door. If I have everything exactly right I can get the car on the ramp but I still can't...
Good ideas guys. They are also ideas I've tried. Removing the nose is not something I want to do often on this car since it can't be done quickly and easily. The car sits low even for a formula car...
I have searched the forums and there are many great ideas to be found, but I'm wondering what the Dallara F3 folks are using? I'm having a heck of a time getting the car on and off of my trailer and...
Lance, welcome to the small group of F3 owners in NA!
I'm a former Orlando dweller but I moved to a neighboring state a number of years ago. I may try to set up a test day within the next few...
To the best of my knowledge that will mean there are two of us with Dallara / Mugen's in North America. Mine is an older car but I'm sure not unhappy with it.
Bob, I understand where you are coming from. Eighteen months or so before I heard of Mark or the Canadian Formula 3 I had the chance to buy an F3 car that had or easy been imported to the states. At...
No argument what so ever, my 394 had the Opel replaced with a later Mugen when the car was owned by Steve Nichols.
If I'm not mistaken my car has a MF204B engine that was based off of the Prelude.
Ron, are you the former S2K guy?
It's 003.
That's interesting, Dallara told me they believed I owned Ralf's car. There's no question I have one of the teams cars no matter which driver was in it so of course ill be thrilled to have the...
I guess I fall into the category of a "track day F3 owner" at least for now. I was a TT driver for a number of years and may go back to racing in some form in the future. If the F3 series gets going...
Canadian F3, I would be very I enterested in hearing what sparked your interest in F3 and a little about your car or cars.
Thanks for doing this Doug!
As the owner of a Formula 3 in the States I'm sure I will find this very interesting.
In the first vid the workers did a heck of a job getting to the car quickly. It looks like less than 10 seconds from the time the car stopped moving until someone was talking to the driver.
I've got to be miising something. The first race was 106 years ago and John raced in the first event and is still driving? YeeHaa! ;)
