it ended up being 4 small leaks and a lot of blocked parts... will be installing a new radiator this week :) generally an old radiator...

Thanks for the help guys, it turns out the housing appears to have shrunk a tiny amount which was putting pressure on the bearing. a little clean out and the bearing fit back in perfectly.

Im having to use about 11k RPM and slip the clutch almost all the way through 1st gear. if the wheels stop spinning the engine will bog. a tiny amount more clutch is all that is needed to fix that...
