I guess the squeaky wheel sometimes does get the grease. Maybe it'll improve attendance at regionals in the first half of the year.
FV
1. #26284 (Club Racing Board ) FV Allow non-spec tire in Regional competition
In GCR section 9.1.1.C.3.D, correct wording as follows:
"The following tires are required: The following tires are...
This discussion is about a Spec Tire. We are not talking about other tires used in other series. We now have a spec tire in FV so let us discuss that.
There is no need for negative comments or...
There are two SCCA races at Brainerd this year; May 27-28 and Sept 2-3. Unfortunately, turnout is pretty light. Bruce set the track record there so he's a good authority.
A quick show of hands, anyone follow the Divisional route to get to the Runoffs in the last few years?
Sticking to the original question, what did you think about combining groups. The obvious two, at least according to the survey was FF and F5. With enough numbers we should be safe from being...
Not sure that transmissions are really an area where a lot of guys worry about spending money. Some race in an area that only needs one transmission. Others race in an area that requires two...
Quite a race with a lot of action. But in all the years I've been racing, nobody told me I was supposed to run through the marbles afterwards to help with ride height clearance and get through tech.
Some of the other formula classes have had low turnouts the last few years (continental and atlantic) I can't imagine they would get their own run groups. The same goes for some of the touring...
Has anyone else gotten the survey regarding the format for the runoffs? Any thoughts on the three options?
For those of you who haven't gotten it yet, it asks a question regarding how you would...
With that kind of science, I could prove the worlds flat too
I must really need an eye exam, it wasn't a 2:49.. a bit slower then that. While I do have a Speedsport motor in my car, I certainly didn't spend $10k for it. Terran did drive it at the June Sprints...
Terran went a 2:39 at RA with it... it's nice
I bought that motor, it's in my car now.
It would be interesting to see the range of what people budget. Most of us probably wouldn't be on the high end. But I'm really curious to see what someone on a tight budget could realistically end...
This is a question for all those who have been to a runoffs before. Had a few questions related to budget. From your race season and the runoffs themselves. I'm curious on the difference between...
What is the difference between the two compounds of Porterfields? What's the best break in method for them as well.
Thanks
What is the current cost of the Carbotech's vs Porterfields?
If you plan to attend the 60th Anniversary of the June Sprints don't delay!
Registration closes on June 4th!!
Make sure to get your name on this list today. Go to: msreg.com/junesprints2015

I've put a new clutch on the car. Do I need to do anything to break it in?
Thanks
I'll offer three perspectives on bump drafting. As a corner worker it's difficult to see. If we do see it, we're required to have two witnesses to sign. If only one of us sees it (on a two man...
This is an early shout out for the 60th Anniversary of the June Sprints. Hoping we can get as many vee's as possible there. I've always heard stories of the huge fields at RA. Let's see if we can...
He cheated, he was in 5th gear! ;)
congrats Steve nice job :checkered:
Crew needed for FV team. Will be racing at Blackhawk Farms, Road America and Brainerd. No race experience necessary but good working knowledge around cars preferred. A great way to get started in...
Hopefully you're all on FB, send me a PM the best way to find you
I use the Hans and like it for its simplicity. Different companies make different claims in what they protect against ( lateral movement vs forward movement). For the Hans you'll look at the Sport II...
Okay, we've rambled on for 267 posts and really haven't gotten very far. The discussion on what if anything to change on FV needs to be put on a back burner for now. What we need is bodies in seats....
I think after reading all the posts lately we certainly are gaining traction in the subject of building the class. I like all the things Noel pointed out.
Time for action! Let's collectively...
Gentlemen, the man asked a question and as Bill pointed out it was answered early on in the posts. Let's not get into a debate about FV vs FST. Both classes offer certain benefits to the driver. It...
Thanks everyone who posted something on this post. The intent was really related to education vs the whether FV should or should not switch to disc brakes.
I do not have the experience that many...
Recently I witnessed a drum brake shatter during a race, leading to the car of course crashing and the tire go flying.
What are the chances of a catastrophic failure when using disc brakes? How...
I'm going to start asking in my region and work my way up to the national office. We'll figure out something.
Doug asked two questions. The answer to the first is and always will be, an entry level class. As long as there are modern cars available then we don't become a vintage class. Not to say anyone can't...
Where can we find the final lineup for Sundays race?
Ok ok ok, so I went to this thread to read about how vee's were doing at the runoffs... and a fight broke out. Thought I was at a hockey game.
Let's get back on track; what are the times, how are...
Don't you have a Mysterian for rent too? ;)
So you pay $600 Cdn a set? Or roughly $560 US a set?
ENOUGH!! I'm tired of this "I don't give a rats ass" attitude. If you don't give a rats ass, then go find somewhere else to play. We want people who care about what's happening in their racing...
If the first part were true, half the posts on this thread would disappear. The second sentence is the true heart of the matter. What can we do to get cars on the track? If the only reason to switch...
Is it possible to do a partial transition from FV to FST? For example could you just change to the 1600 motor and keep all the rest. According to the FST website the cost of transition could approach...
Thank you Bill. IMHO, you have all worked very hard to promote and grow FST. Why change? I think a change would only confuse people and hurt the very progress you have worked so hard to achieve.
What is the weight of the disc components compared to the current drum components? Is it the same, less, more?
Starting from the beam, to all brake parts, to wheels minus rubber. What is the...
Looking at the registered drivers for June Sprints and I only see 4 vee's. Where is everyone?
We actually had an Indy car team owner with his son taking drivers school in a vee earlier this year at BHF. So there's one.
This is to all the drivers who have cars parked in a garage, shed, backyard, anywhere.. that aren't racing them at the track. Why aren't you racing? Let us know what the reason is. I think we can all...
Matt, out of curiosity what has the SCCA done that made it easier for you to walk away? What would it take for you to come back to the track?
People voted and the CRB decided with that vote as input. It wasn't Chicago style voting process with the dead lining up. Each vote was from a member of the SCCA.
As everyone else has said, this...
Hello all, had a question related to a Wilwood brake balance bar I've got in the car. Bought the car with it already installed but it didn't have a bias adjuster. I've got an adjuster but it won't...
The west coast guys will race with Mike maybe twice this year, this past weekend and at the Runoffs. I have to look forward to racing with Mike every weekend. You find improvements wherever you can....
