As someone that races a lot at BIR, I have never seen an F1000 there. Maybe I missed it but I highly doubt there were 2, making it a race. I have not seen one at Blackhawk lately either but...

I hear this a lot on this topic. I'm all for modern tech but at the same time, I've raced in FST for 6 years and other than checking that I have full throttle, have never touched the carb.

You would have to go through all the rules to explain this thoroughly. It's not worth the effort for this thread. My point should have been more about how referring to the bulk of the formula classes...

These classes are allowed to have side pods that would make their cockpits the same as any 500. No rules says they can't. Having built an FST and looked into building an F500, the F5 wheelbase rule...

What a great weekend. Weather was sunny and 70's. The event was run very well, and unlike most rovals, I found Gateway to be a real race track! A big thanks to Nuveau Autosports for the hot coffee...

I have seen this tool in action before. Ingenious! It really is a weekend saver. Smaller and more useful for the “group” than carrying a spare beam. Great stuff!

I have put baffles in my tanks to minimize foaming. I doubt they are optimized but I have not had any problems with a lot of oil ending up in the catch tank. I ran a Lola 540 for probably 18 race...

I am a FST owner, driver and constructor. I think FV should do what is best for that class. I think the air cooled VW classes are linked together more...

Coincidentally I too will be doing some testing. I have built a new, narrower oil tank that should fit into conversions more easily. It is smaller than the tank I have used and sold with the MRC...

I registered but I'm not showing up on the list yet. It might be that I registered with my long time number, which in fact has been already taken! Gall dang-it. That's what I get for not registering...

Congratulations to Doug and his whole crew! A lot of work, talent in the cockpit and a big dose of fun at the track seems to be the winning combination. You guys set the bar high.
