Yay! One more racing fan!
Congrats, O'Connells!
(and baby O'Connell - you gotta get to grips with the CGR first - start early to get ahead!)
Hi Guys
Sorry I vented a little there, it's just out of a basic sense of frustration.
What I'm after is a simple set of rules I can follow to allow me to build and run a competitive car...
So Russ, what you're saying is that we might as well all give up and run to win somewhere else? What? NASA? VARA?
Why is there not a class for the rich/fast/latest greatest, and another class for...
I think my current estimates show an honest $13k in an 86, all up with a GSXR1000R and LSD in it (after selling stuff and fabricating as much as possible by myself, and of course, a ton of help from...
Hey, I agree with Charlie too.
If you already have one and it works for you, heck, I say run with it.
It's the people who are getting into this from somewhere else that think about this the...
F1000? simple.
a) I already come from Solo Vee, with a 105HP 1600 motor, free rims and tires (and so use FC spec rims and tires on my Vee anyway).
b) a decent refresh on the Pinto costs $3500....
Well for me it's not quite the "cheap" that does it for me in F1000, I have a kart and a Vee for that. It's what Economaki has been saying for a long time. Racing used to be, like most things, build...
Call me crazy but I'm going to do an RF86 into a GSXR powered F1000 by mid 2007-ish. I'm taking the "bring life back to older cars" literally, and have been in contact with a few members from this...
Hear hear.
Maybe one day I can give an older RF a kick in the pants too!
In the meantime, this, for me, is what racing is about. Tinkering -- ahem, car design --is a heck of a lot of fun!
Funny, I thought it was the car and the person in it and behind it too.
Sure, a mere $35,000 for a roller and you too can win a race. Or two. Until somebody notices a niche market opening up and ups the ante again.
Is everything only professional at the Continental...
Apparently the new WF1 is a sports racer. Lee's not built an open wheel car since 1999, I believe.
Congrats to all involved. I just checked out the Fast Track and was very impressed. I think I'll be joining you from the bottom (older) end of the FC conversions in the mid future.
Well done all!
