That may be my old car, which Mk3 do you have? I think only 2 or 3 were built.

Union Jack Racing was Alex Miller.

At the 1980 Runoffs it was red and I think had a Jeff Miller (no relation) body. Suzuki GT 750 power.

3M also makes a spray adhesive remover designed for body shop use. Might be worth a try, 3M makes good stuff.

There is a mid to late 60's Chrysler product (Colt?) that used an Alpine engine. I think the cam and compression may have been different but the block and lower end was the same.
