Not sure I would powder coat the uprights. Don't think I would want a thick coating put on them at 400 degs.

I have a factory wheel for that car if you need one,I think a front. Also have a few other pieces here.
Sorry I used to have a spare , but sold it with my car. I do have one for for an Buick powered Indy car, but that would have been turbo.
If you open up the box, you will find a GM ecu inside. It's just been reflashed to the Indy Lights parameters. If I still had my car I would switch to a more modern programmable ecu. Like a...
I do agree, your schedule looks good. Way I see it the only opening for FF's to run is at Schenley not at PITT. Hmmmm.
Can you send me contact info for CASS racing?
I don't see the PVGP on the schedule for this year. What's up ? I was considering a rental or something.
Pops
Where is this list of drivers that were given 13 month sit downs ? I'd love to see it. And tell me, you ever had a bad day and hollered at someone ? I've had a few chats with Tony, I thought he...
Thank you Rick. I'll call and get it set up. Pops
I see there is now a provisional schedule out for this event. I am disappointed there is no oval time on the schedule and I see the same thing for the Invitational race also..Oh well , I got to do it...
A 90 min enduro for formula cars ??? That's not for me, but some might love it.
I'd rather have 20 mins on the oval.
Are you going to give us a shot at the oval ?
If my health holds out I will be there. I got sick last yr and had to cancel. I hope they let us run the oval again.
I've used the units they make for 4 cyl drag bikes. small light and fairly cheap. I would have to look up the brand, but it was very reliable.
I've made a couple nose molds. It's not that hard , but very time consuming. Don't take shortcuts, get the right materials.
Input needed. Lola T-93 Indy Lights car. Are they any good ?, Parts availability ? I find very little on the net about em. I like it cause it has a Chevy V-8 in it and they don't call me Pop Chevy...
Use a nitrogen bottle. I would keep increasing press till the engine turns over. I THINK it was around 200 lbs.
I'm curious how you determined direction of rotation. Other than that, Done good ! Time to throw some fuel at it, now it gets exciting. Pops
The problem is that there are very few here with Indy Car experience. I myself would love to own one, therefore I am paying close attention. I believe the only formula cars with external starters...
Funny you should mention the cell phone. I started to carry mine in case I break or crash on the back side of the track and can contact my crew that way.
Put the car in gear and bump it forward. That will tell you direction. AFAIK the starter drive runs straight to the crank or does it drive the lower shaft.
You draw up a print of what you want I'm sure someone here will step up, maybe me. As far as buying your own mill goes, what Dan W said was right on target. When I bought my Bridgeport I was telling...
I thought the mid 90's Lola's were bigger inside, No?
Great story, now I want one even more !!!!
You can try it on 12vt, but I'll bet it doesn't have enough power to start the engine. That doesn't look like a standard starter to me. Try it you'll find out. I'm thinkin 24vt.
I would not have used antiseize on the threads, Locktite also acts as a thread lube then hardens. Better choice.
NIICE !!
Sorry, didn't catch your location. How about posting a pic ?
June 7-10th. Ya Gotta Go !! You will see some of the coolest race cars on the planet ! From 20's Indy cars to Ford GT 40 Mk 4 and beyond. 600 cars entered this year.
No, Indy IS cool ! It's too late to enter, but you could bring it out to show it. There is
show associated with the event and we would love to see it.
I wish I had a Penske PC 10 to ask questions about !! Someday, maybe, I'll own an Indy Car. There is a wealth of info on the forum, ask away.
Wet sand with 600 grit or if really bad use 400 then polish away. It might take a couple sessions with the polish, but each time you do it will look better.
Been a long winter !
Don't stress about it. I was there last year in my FA car with a lame engine that made me one of the slowest cars in the group. Everyone was quite respectful of my slow azz. I just held my line and...
I think the engines are a little peaky to do what you want, but I could be wrong. I started out in a FC car with the Pinto engine with the wings set for high downforce . As I gained experience and...
After a season of driving a F1000 car you are not going to WANT to get back in a FF !!! Going fast is very addictive !
300 ft lbs sounds right. I bought a big 6 pt socket and a monster 1" drive torque wrench off ebay.
I absolutely loved the event last year !!! As did my granddaughter for her 1st race event ever. I will go back if they let me. HOWEVER , I was told there will be fewer entries accepted. Don't know...
I found a FRESH engine for this car for only 8k . Shoot I can't find a fresh Toyota FA engine for 8k !!! Dang, I gotta talk to the wife some more .
I know I'm getting off topic but. The fan turnout was impressive, I was told they sold more spectator tickets than the Indy Grand Prix did. Saturday I was strapped in my car ready to go out on the...
I been racing 35yrs and I thought this was the most incredible event I have ever been in ! My opinion.
712 race cars ! Wow ! Just walking through the paddock was mind boggling. I saw race cars...
Not posted yet. The only result sheet I have is for group 9 the race I was in. I could probably scan it for you later if interested.
I'm curious, how do you put a tow hook on a carbon fiber tub ?
Check for an air leak when hot.
The Buick engine should be fairly easy. Theres quite a few parts out there floating around on the Buick Stage II forum. The Buick guys won't use em cause the CI is too small. I myself would have...
Somebody got a screaming deal ! Wish it was me, but I couldn't talk the wife into it. Always wanted an Indy car. Maybe someday when I grow up !
The March Indy Lights car derived from the 85B F3000 car.
You are right Richard, that's how mine was.
I had one , built it from a basket case, but never got to drive it. I talked to guys that used to race em, they told me they are tail happy (loose). I was told to put 50# in the nose of the car. The...
I believe FF runs under Monoposto rules. Go to monoposto.com for info.
I wish I would have known more FC drivers were interested in running with SVRA, I would have kept mine ! Yes, FC cars are accepted in Group 9, I think the cutoff date was 1999 but not certain. I...
