Hello all,
I was in a Speed shop the other day and the guy who owns it is an NHRA guy. Funny Car he runs. We got to talking about cooling and he shares with me that they run a product called:

Hi guys, I would like to clarify that the nose I am working with was NOT built by Dauntless. It is a generation of nose that I think was and may be in fact the first Generation of nose from Stohr. ...
Thanks Jake. The Barrell nuts I have already have the slot in them for the Flathead. I thought you meant something else. The front holes from the nose whiskers line up with the holes in the main...
Yeah this has turned into a real PIA. Jake do you have a pic of what you mentioned. Unreal that an OEM part doesn't fit into the holes in the OEM main plane wing. Thanks.
Hi Dave, yeah those little hockey pucks you reference are known as Barrel nuts as far as I know. Funny thing. I had to find them at IKEA! They use them a lot in their furniture assembly. The ones I...
Thanks Jake, yeah, Im thinking Im going to drill through the Tusks and use 2 Barrell nuts on either side and use 6MM bolts up through the Tusks into the Barrell nuts. The last one was like that so...
Pretty sure not metric but you’re right, really close and 99ish, my first try was a 1/4 x 20 but it had quite a bit of resistence when trying to turn in. This is a used nose and I think at one time...
Tried that... anyway, looks to be a 10/32. there is such little material there I just don twant to over size drill the holes. Tap seems to have little to no resistance. at least hole 1 :)
Hi all, does anybody know what the OEM thread pitch is on a Stohr f1000 fiberglass nose? The thread pitch on the nose whiskers that the front main plane bolts to. They look to have never been drilled...
Did any of the cars run American Racer tires? And if so any performance report on the AR tires?
What were the top 5 cars running for tires? Thanks
Is the a date or production code that we can look for on the side wall to determine what gen the tires are from? I was also told f1000 tires have a f1000 identifier on the side wall. So do they or...
We just picked up a few sets of ART, have yet to run them but we did manage a weight comparison: we run Youngblood wheels. Fronts were 2lbs a wheel tire combination heavier with the ART. The rears...
can anyone please share what the Target Hot Tire Pressures should be running 7" and 9" wheels? thank you
Was everyone on the new tire? if so, drivers comments please. thanks
Can someone please explain what is different from these tires to Hoosiers or Avons? I know lower price but Thomas commented that these tires are designed specifically for F1000. Seems a pretty small...
hello all, just a short post I thought you should know about. I have 4 full motion racing simulators used in a commercial environment. We only use real world race car components such as MOTEC...
Apparently there are many drivers looking at getting into f1000 but are reticent to actually buy a car because of discussions like these. We bought 2 f1000's because of the fact you can futz around...
hi,
we are replacing the drive flange studs and nuts on our Stohr's. We did some research about the Torque spec and came up with 20 FT. LBS for the nut. Can any one confirm if this is correct and...
I now have 2 updated Stohrs, we have done an incredible amount of work on them over the last 3 years to get them to where we are today, which is ready to head south and compete.
Since I first...
That's not torture for some! Max Mosley comes to mind.... ;)
Ok, I went back and re read. i thought it said grooved tire but it doesnt, only that a new compound will be used RS3 for the Shoot Out. My bad. I guess I was looking at the tire of the 3 cars, looked...
if you go to their site and read through some of the news you will see a paragraph that mentions them switching to a grooved slick for the new Shoot Out qualifying program they are going to be doing....

these are rains?
you can see a pic of the tire on the main page of the Cooper Tire Pro Mazda Championship home page. its the 4th slide in the home page slide show, just a shot of some cars running the tire...
hello all, has anyone tried the new Cooper Tire RS3 grooved racing slick that Pro Mazda is about to use (at least) for their shoot out qualifying rounds?
Thanks guys. I am aware of the repeater, should have stated that but even sometimes with it we had dead zones so I guess its pretty much is what it is.
Has anyone tried the Kenwoods mentioned...
thanks Greg.... but those will cause us grief at the Border!
hello all, we are about to put radios into our 2 f1000's. we have tried in the past Motorola CP200's with some but limited success. out of sight no radio comm. we have a few CP 200 radio's on the...
Ivan, watched the video a few times, take a look at the thread boss thats welded to the frame on the lower right wishbone aft, where the A arm attaches. Take a real close look at it, that was what...
Hi Ivan,
I think you are running a Stohr and if so, I would bet you have many cracks in the frame. The Stohr, in our experience, is soft to start with, our chassis was cracked in so many places...
well then make it easy for yourself, run VP 105 unleaded and call it a day. or whichever fuel you run make sure its good for your 12.5:1 compression ratio. you should be able to get that really easy.
i would try and match the fuel to your compression ratio of your motor, should be safe with that!
not sure what you are running, I assume an f1000, if its a GSXR and your running SCCA I would go with George Dean's recommendation. If not maybe there is track fuel to be had, that's usually safe.
sorry to hijack this thread! ;)
we tried the URT 105 in one of the f1000's and ran shell premium in the other. we didn't do plug chops but we did get a reading on the plugs as soon as possible...
thanks George.
Thanks for that Dave. I cant even find anyone who has used it...
What race fuel if any passes SCCA rules Dave?
Thanks
I know it looks good / reads well. I am looking for reports from anyone who has actually used it. So far I have not talked to or heard from anyone who has 1. heard of it and 2. used or uses it.
here is a link to the spec and brief narrative:

Hello all,
we have been approached by a Shell representative to try their race fuel. SHELL URT. They have 3 different blends available.
we are wondering if anyone has tried the SHELL URT fuel...
hello all,
so does anyone or has anyone done any business with the company that bought Stohr? I have tried for several months to buy (unsuccessfully) parts. This past Monday I called again, got...
So, what are the guys on the west coast going to do? what series? or what club events. there are 3 f1000's now here in Calgary, a few in Vancouver, many in Colorado, Utah. Have any other discussions...
yes I guess an FC would do the trick. and anyone out there in the southern USA who has a well prepared FC for Rental and has a solid driver coaching background?
no NOT john Lewis! and yes if anyone is reading this who doesn't know John Lewis, take the above SAGE advise.
hi all, I have a friend who wants to buy an F1000 car for racing next year. he is a GT racer now, holds an SCCA race license and he asked me to look for a driver coach / instructor that uses F1000's...
a 4.5 second advantage from pole to 2nd? same displacement engines? had to be some major traffic in qually but even in the race 2.0 seconds advantage, good job Mr. Vollum
you could also try sending it to Hartwig Aircraft Fuel Cell Repair in Winnipeg Manitoba. if the cell isnt too bad they do a very good job, provide a Certified Repair Cert and I have always found them...
Thanks for all the help folks, I finally made contact with Jesse last night.
Thanks, that's the number I have. I have left several messages and sent many emails that remain unanswered. Does anyone know if he has had an accident or anything? and does anyone know how to get a...
