Might I suggest reaching out to all the teams the run with the FRP group. f2000series.com Don't limit yourself to just F1000. While F1000 runs with FRP there's also F1600, F2000, and F ATL. All...
Look up LTD Motorsports in the SE MI area too. Dave does good work. I'd offer to help with the setup and engineering work but I cant provide any trackside prep work.
These things are spooky. That's the 3rd flip of a Shadow car in the last several years.
Wasn't there a Tatuus F1000 car listed recently? Pretty reasonably priced too.
Found it!
Your location says Akron, OH. If you're attending the university there they have an FSAE program, which has been successful throughout the years. Lots of knowledge to be gained thru that program...
I'd suggest starting with some light reading. Maybe Gillepsie's Fundamentals of Vehicle Dynamics and following up with Miliken's RCVD. All the pertinent math is in both books. Secondly, before...
The only thing you'd keep from the Miata for a P2 build would be the MZR. Even then it needs a lot of work to work in a race car (dry sump) and hotted up parts (intake, exhaust, and ECU) to make it...
Why not just buy an F600? They have sports car noses and look very sports-racer-esque. Plus it already exists, there's people to race against, and meets the majority of your requirements.
Not...
If you're in the Detroit are take a look at FC. There is a regional race series, The Great Lakes Challenge, that runs all the local tracks. I'd suggest starting with contacting Keith Averill at...
Could you pick some lottery numbers for me?
You may consider Cincinnati airport (actually in Kentucky) and/or possibly Detroit if you need some flexibility. There are some closer but smaller regional airports that you could fly in/out of...
The following is meant to be a completely honest question to you. What is there to this new F4 series that you figured it was worth investing in? To be honest I don't understand it, but believe I...
And to further quell some of the tensions in here.........

Kinda figured this wasn't far behind.

Looks like a Formula Lites repurposed. I don't see how this becomes any ore successful than the current FLites program. ...
You mean a Formula Lites repackaged!? I had some doubts about an FRP F4 series but figured if it could be made to work they could figure out how to do it. The SCCA? I'm sad to say I think its a...
If you really want to experience the effects you should try bigger changes that just a couple clicks. Make big swings early in to see what they do and how much authority they have on performance....
1/8" would be a lot for road racing but could work for autox. Back when I was auto crossing fsae I would go as far as 1/4" but at that point it was more about heating up the tires earlier in the run.
If turn in response is your goal there are other ways, with less compromise, to get there. One would be running toe out in the front. Another would be increased low speed compression in the damper....
+1. This is a huge player in dynamic response. If you want to move the weight distribution forward do it by keeping the weight more toward the CG to keep your yaw inertia low.
What issue are...
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had noticed that.
It'll be very interesting to hear more than just a press release about this series. It sounds on the surface like a good idea but I am curious as to the rulebook and governing body and the vision for...
What rulebook will the cars be governed to? What kind of development is allowed? Can I build my own wings or valve my own dampers?
I've used these on a 600 with good results. Used a pair in parallel to support dual radiators.
I see now that the engine configuration doesn't match. It did have a Van Diemen chassis plate on it although I don't have a picture of it. The front shock cover and wing/crush box structure are...
I stumbled across one of these in a parking garage at the 'Ring two years ago. Always wondered what it was. It was simply parked in a regular spot in the hotel garage lot at the Lindner Hotel,...
More importantly where is all the incar! We got a little teaser of the standing start, but I need more than 90 seconds.:tire::tire::tire::tire:
Having been of the FI mentality when I first got into racing I would have to say that no longer holds true. It took some learning on my part to understand the carb and the rest of the components...
I meant specific to FSAE engine usage where the options are open. Not to restrict the team to 600s, but to look at the other options with fewer cylinders.
If you're looking for future motors specifically for FSAE you want to also give a consideration to singles and twins. With no minimum weight requirements you can really look at downsizing all the...
I've no longer got a dog in this fight, but having owned and driven several Vees and FSTs the rack is so much better. Purely from a feel/feedback standpoint the rack is orders of magnitude better. ...
On eBay now. Starting bid $5200. Dodged a bullet there.
Not trying to critize because I really like all the video you guys are getting, but have you considered condensing the footage into a highlight reel for each round? It'd be much easier to watch a...
