Common Video Naming Convention
Bill,
Thanks for the update links to some of the great FST action captured on video (and a big thanks to all the videographers). It‘s a hoot watching it all action on the big screen. With that being said I was wondering if a common naming convention could be adopted for posting the videos on YouTube. This would make searching (and hopefully finding) videos a bit easier. As I’ve never posted anything to YouTube’s site, I’m not certain of all the issues involved. Anyway, here’s what I was thinking. Plain old FST and FFST turn up all sorts of unrelated stuff to wade through, that I don’t think they’d be of much help. So, how about using the initials FST (or FFST) followed by the year of the race (i.e. FST09 for races in 2009) as part of the posting title/info. This would make general searching for new video fare a bit easier and still leave room for some descriptive information. Also, if a standard naming convention could be found and followed, the information on it could be posted on the Formula First site. That way people interested in seeing the racing the class has to offer could more readily find the video evidence of it. Again, this is just an idea, and there may be better ways of accomplishing this.

P.S. My reasons for bringing this up are not altogether altruistic. Having just acquired 58” of plasma splendor (better than sex, or at least that’s what my wife keeps telling me) that has direct YouTube access, an easier way of searching for new video fare would be appreciated. Thanks!
