Time to kill in Vegas!

I'm going to Vegas next week for the SEMA show and I have a full day to kill when I arrive.

So, other than gambling, searching out the feds at Area 51 or going to Parump for hookers anyone got any ideas on how to kill a day in a reasonably constructive manner?

BTW, if I had a enough time driving out ot Groom Lake and seeing if I could get arrested by the federalis at Area 51 would be fun! My company might think spending the night in jail isn't good for business and the related bail charge most likely won't go over to well on my expense report!

I don't know the schedule or the location (honest), but I'm told that the adult film industry awards presentation is in Vegas the same week as the SEMA show. Suddenly my extra plane ticket has become so much more desirable...

There's a decent karting facility out there from what I've heard. You could always rent a Harley and head out to Hoover Dam for the day....

I was at an SAE committee meeting that took a chartered bus down to Kingman and the Ford test track. The driver (actually Greyhound) did not want word to get back to headquarters that he drove the bus on the track. He really did not get up to a high enough speed to get up on the banking. We stopped at the dam on the way back. Kingman is pretty desolate.

There's at least one place out in Pahrump where you can rent high-power full-auto firearms and wail away till your wallet is empty.

the race track at Pahrump is owned by the Radical guys now, might be able to do a few laps out there, especially if they know you or that you represent NASA.

no reason to go out to pahrump, the gun store is in city limits. i'm not really into guns, but hey, shooting a machine gun is a once in a lifetime experience...

Try the Bottoms Up Burlesque Show. Arguably the worst show in Vegas, but has risen to cult status.

The Grand Canyon is a long drive but do-able in a day if you really want to see it. I tried it once but was chased back by Indians in pickup trucks about 20 mile short. True story, ask me some time at the track for the full version.

George and Harriet decided to celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary with a trip to Las Vegas. I am going to be up there Tues/Wed/Thurs and yes it is.

Also, the Mario Andretti Driving Experience is there at LVMS. I was an instructor there a while back when it was known as CART101. Kind of Pettyish, but if you show some experience/skill, they will let you get up to 160 or so. They are pseudo Indycars (tube frame) with V-8s, about 5-600HP back then, and on Firestone Indy Slicks, more fun than the go-kart track, IMHO.
