*SOLD* Multiple Runoffs podium finisher. Former Jaremko car. That car has always been one of my "Agnif hit the lottery" cars and would be added to my collection if it ever came up for sale.

It's just that cool.

To give a little more detail on the recent history, K-Hill ran the car for 2022. They completed a rewiring of the electrical system and a through cleaning and partial replacement of the fuel system. Mitchell Racing ran the car for me in 2021, which is why you see the pictures with Jeremy in them. Bruce Lindstrand prepared the car in 2019-2021 until he retired. He was the one that oversaw the new suspension build, Two Dogg bearings, and the new body. GMT manufactured the new suspension components. I did the suspension design.

How large a driver will it fit?

PS - Asking for a friend who's 5'9" and 230 lbs and likes Stohrs... :ha:

5’9” definitely fits. I think the previous owner was 5’9” or 5’10”. I have gained some weight since I first got it, so my hip/thigh width has gotten a little wide and is a bit tight now. The fit was fine when I was 200 lb or less at 5’7”, and even now, the upper cockpit has plenty of room.

I am curious about the rationale/engineering around narrowing the track to better leverage the radial spec Goodyears. Can you share?

Not to be this guy, but, I thought SCCA said that the aero pieces that span the legs of wishbones was a no-no.

No, you are not required to run round tube. You may have a shaped aero foil arm, which every FF with inboard suspension I have ever seen has, as long as it is equally shaped across its neutral axis, ie. Not a wing shape that produces downforce by having a longer length on one side. The original suspension features an aero foil that completely slides over the driveshaft and has run that way since 1998.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I don't mean the tubing itself but the formed aluminum sheet that creates an airfoil between the half-shaft and the wishbone. If it has run like that since 1998 and still does without argument from SCCA, I was wrong in assuming they were deemed illegal. Thanks for the input. Love the car.

That is not bodywork added over two arms. That is a one piece heat treated 4130 steel arm. The whole thing is structural. There are no tubes within it or non-structural aero surfaces.

It has a nationally competitive Ivey Ford and slick aero. An added bonus is the wired-in AMB transponder is one of the Early ones that doesn’t require a subscription

The car was custom built for me be Lee Stohr. 5.11" and 175lbs with suit and helmet, I was very low in the cock pit.

Lee Stohr and I both wanted to try and win the Runoffs in FF and this car was to be our best effort. Our first trip to the Runoffs at Mid Ohio in 1999 netted a 3rd place finish. (5th start for the car) Unfortunatly for the car and its development the DSR community quickly noticed Lee's abilities and all of the sudden he was designing and building DSR's instead of FF's. Lee's full attention quickly shifted to the DSR project which took focus off the FF project and unfortunatly halted development. We went back to the Runoffs with the Ford in 2000 at Mid Ohio and finished 2nd which was hopefull, but the DSR's momentum and eventual dominence in DSR made it tough for us to focus on the Ford. The rest is history:checkered:

I honestly can’t name a more-influential constructor’s story in SCCA for decades. Swift springs to mind, now almost forty years ago.

I do not understand why this car hasn't sold. Personally, the only negative I see is that if I could afford it I'd be afraid to drive it as it was meant to be, for fear I might ruin such a beauty.

I’d bet Lee does, too.

In the D Sports Racing of my youth, 50 years ago, the class was in the slowest third of all the 21 National classes then. I think the engine limit was 850cc,, nearly all of them 2-strokes, and there were few actual constructors.

It was an interesting class of homebuilts, and relatively slow. I can’t access my programs now but I’m pretty sure it ran with G and H Production, and C Sedan, in mixed races at Nationals and Regionals. D/SR mostly stayed that way for decades.

Fast forward in very short order to the Stohr days, and you’re nearly running Atlantic times. I think the fastest Runoffs time in Road America history is in a Stohr.

Helluva run from dicing with Triumph Spitfires, and fun to watch the entire transition. I don’t exaggerate in saying you guys reshaped history.

The newer narrow track suspension is intended to provide three advantages. One is less drag by reducing the frontal area. The car was already good in a straight line but should be very good now. If we were to race at Daytona again, I would expect this to be the car to beat. I would also expect it to do well at Road America. The second benefit is a little less unsprung weight, with shorter and therefore lighter arms. The third is to work the tires a little harder to get temperature into the harder compound. That benefit will depend some on the track and the ambient temperature. It is probably worse at Gingerman in July but better at Road America in October. The suspension would work even better for the DOT Toyos being run out west. The original maximum legal width suspension is better when the tire compounds are open to allowing you to run as soft as possible. With both suspensions available, the next owner will have options to choose the best configuration. There is precedent for the narrow track suspension working with harder spec tires from the early 1980s in Europe. I had a discussion with Bruce Ashmore, former Lola FF designer, on the subject when I worked for him at Reynard.

The engine has always been maintained by Ivey. It has zero hours since the last rebuild. They provided a better, minimum weight flywheel at the current rebuild than what I had run with the car. The engine has zero hours on it beyond Ivey's dyno time to break it in.

In other news, I just picked the car up from K-Hill and brought it back to my house in Peoria, IL, so everything is with me now.

FWIW, all the cars running at the front in FF these days have maximized their track. Since SCCA came up with that convoluted way to measure max width rather than track, many of us have widened our track, certainly on the front.

Someone needs to get this car back on the track.
