Does anyone have a reasonably accurate length for the Fit engine with all the HPD kit on it? Surprisingly (to me) I don't think it will fit in my chassis.

What are you trying to fit the Fit into?
And what adapter are you using?
I know that the engine will fit into a Zink Z10 using the HPD adapter for the Mk 8/9 Hewland.
The engine is slightly longer than a Kent. The Fit has an engine mount that makes it slightly longer. For the Z10, the HPD adapter makes the engine the same length as a Kent with the most common bell housing adapter.
Sorry, should have said what car! Been working on the other end today hoping the car will grow a little bit! Its a 2011 Van Diemen, but a UK spec Duratec chassis. Similar to the current DP-08 but with a 'hard wired' rear end. The space between the bell housing and back of the chassis is only 18" and from a rough measurement of a road car Fit motor it looks like it won't fit. Hard to believe the Ford Duratec is that much shorther? I'll post some pics.
That'll be tight! (without modifying chassis)
Fit engine crank damper to bell housing is 17.75". HPD bellhousing adapter is 1.5", making the assembly 19.25"
Measurements are close but taken with tape measure/eyeball, not straight edges/calipers.
Thanks for the replies and pm's. It is indeed too long for the chassis. Back to the drawing board!
Could you simply fabricate four 2" male/female spacers to go onto those four attachment points?
I guess that might cause a loss of strength, but maybe you could add some tubes to get it back?
Yes, or maybe make my own adapter plate that would incorporate those spacers?
