Left-foot Braking with V-Pedal

Hi guys,

has anyone here updated their car to allow for left-foot braking? In most 3-pedal (clutch, brake, throttle) single-seaters, the steering shaft 'splits' the right-foot operation from the left-foot operation: Clutch on the left side of the steering shaft and brake and throttle on the right side of the steering shaft.

A friend of mine who races F5000 has had his team make him a V-pedal for brake pedal. The V extends to both sides of the steering shaft. He says that he's raced with this configuration for years (he's won multiple national championships). Has anyone here used this configuration? Would be quite a no-brainer to use with a dog box that only requires a clutch on take-off.

I'm just curious to see how popular this is.

Al Jr used to have that set up on his Frisbee Can-Am

My crossle had a "H" shape more than a "V". The bottom of both pedals were in the same plane on the same shaft. The two pedals are welded together forming the horizontal leg of the H. No perceivable twist in the pedal, make certain that the piece linking the two pedals together does not interfere with the steering shaft at any combination of steering/braking.

Here is what my Crossle 32 has.
Its a nice feature to have on the car for sure.

Looks interesting. I'm assuming this didn't come standard on Crossle's?

Not sure how much room/space you have but I had a pedal extension welded onto the left side of the existing pedal. Since I came from karts, the left foot braking was an easy switch plus I practiced in the daily driver . Now I can't imagine not having it.

Hi, I work at Crossle, we had never heard of V pedals until a few months ago Bruce Parker in NYS asked us to make one for his Crossle 9S sports car. We could certainly make a batch for the Formula Ford Crossles if there's a demand for them.

I just purchased one for my Crossle 31, It did take a looooong time for the order to be filled.

My inquiry started last spring when my contact was not sure when more assemblies were going to be built. When I get a chance I will post picks of the raw assembly before installation.
