Now it can be told...
Now on the verge of the ARRC I can share a little info on my car. I had intended to get a significant amount of testing in prior to the race, but fate was not on my side.
It turns out that some 'salvage' motors are more salvage than others. After several false starts, I headed out for the first time to test at Summit Point several weeks ago. The results are chronicled here:

Back at home I began the search for a new powerplant. In short order George Dean set me up (Thanks George!), and two weeks ago, I preparred to head to the Goblin's Go weekend at VIR for a final test.
As fate would have it, our 3 month drought ended and it rained over an inch Wed-Friday at VIR. So, my final test day outing was a washout. With rain in the forecast through Saturday morning, and FB qualifying at 8:30 am and racing around noon Saturday, I stayed home.
So, tomorrow morning I will head to the ARRC with my unproven car to face some of the stiffest competition I have ever seen. It is a daunting prospect, but I haven't been this excited about a race in a long time.

I saw your video a couple of nights ago. Very neat. It looked like you spent more time trying not to crash on cold slippery tires than enjoying your F1000. :-).
I'm with you. It sure would have been nice to get a few miles on the cars before the ARRC, but it is going to be an event you'll remember the rest of your life. We're going to have a blast. Who knows? You may be on top of the time sheets. I'm expecting the unexpected.
Have a safe trip down. Hoping for us all to have fun and reliable race car debuts!

Sean,
Glad to see the car on track....sorry you didn't get more time in before the motor expired.
Too bad you couldn't just hit "RESET" after the "GAME OVER" at the end.

Followup
Well the ARRC has come and gone...
Attached at the link below is a brief montage of the two qualifying sessions Friday. I am still trying to figure out/remember the line around RA for much of these sessions. So, this is sometimes unflattering footage...
Enjoy,
Sean

P.S. I have footage of the race, but at some point the camera got unintentionally 'clocked' around 20-30 degrees. So, when/if I figure out a way to fit it, I will post that as well. (If any of you have any hints/advice send it my way).
