For me, autocrossing a FF will potentially be one of my premier options living in the Des Moines area. It's a very appealing possibility for me, and something I will be looking at more seriously over the next couple of years. That Vector in the Classifieds is looking more interesting, too. :)

Interesting that they would eliminate cars like that from the potential pool of CMs. Didn't know they did that kind of thing with the Solo rules. Good to know, even though it seems like CM would be an ideal place for ugly ducklings and oddities. Does it seem odd that they allow Swifts?
I believe the purpose of the rule is to prevent one off, purpose built Solo "Formula Fords".
I only posted part of the rule. There is also a list of approved S2000 manufacturers.
My understanding is that a real road racing FF like the Vector would be added to the list if someone writes to the Solo Board requesting the addition. As Lynn pointed out the purpose of the rule isn't to limit the eligible real FF's but only to exclude solo only "FF's".Quote:

That's always been a beef I've had with the GCR. The intent of rules like this isn't described. After someone explains that the rule makes perfect sense but until then as a newcomer you scratch your head and wonder why. I'm not saying every rule needs intent listed but perhaps ones with more gray area certainly do.
