Wilson Fittipaldi, RIP
https://us.motorsport.com/f1/news/fo...d-80/10579184/
If the measure of a man is his children, Wilson must have been one fine guy.
Hopefully on topic, Christian was teamed up with the son of a friend and client in Grand-Am in 2007. We spent an entire long weekend with him, and he was completely unaffected by his stature — but instead treated my wife and I like old, golden friends. It was almost surreal, and that had to have originated with Wilson.
Our hearts go to Christian today — and obviously, anyone directly or indirectly inspired or affected by his Father.
Race in Peace.

Very sad…
He was a wonderful host while we were there. Upon arrival Wilson took us to lunch. It was a Brazilian “Steakhouse” where the servers come around with different types of meat and slice it off the bone onto your plate. I sat next to him and as the servers came around I would take what he took. A couple of times they came to me first and I had to look at Wilson and get the “Yea or Nay” sign as to whether I should try some or not.
He was also very gracious at the track making sure that I had all the crew and engineers I needed to be competitive. We talked for over an hour at the end of the day about getting the most from the car I was driving and the differences between the Brazilian FVee's and the FVee's I drove at home. We also discussed his and my racing career and the race cars we had driven. He seemed more interested in what I raced and my past karting experience than telling me about his illustrious career as a racer and designer.
He was and will be the face and Godfather of Formula Vee in Brazil. The work he has done to inject new life into the series and provide a low cost transition from karting to open wheel cars for up and coming Brazilian racers and will be truly missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Fittipaldi family today.

Absolutely awesome Chris, Thank You.
Had no idea of Wilson’s connections to Vee!
