How to log engine data?
I was wondering if there is a wiring diagram on how to install an AIM data logger into a Formula Mazda? I am not sure what wire goes where. Is there an OBD-II port I can hook up a Bluetooth dongle to? What data values are available on a Formula Mazda engine?
This is the pinout of the unit. Which wire goes where?

Is a separate GPS unit needed to log speed and location on the track is that built into the AIM data logged? If its separate where does that plug into the AIM unit?

That info looks like your dash in an MXL Pista or Strada. If it's a Strada, it doesn't have any logging memory, it's display only. If it's a Pista you can log the channels you have connected and configured in Race Studio 2.
The GPS will only support the older GPS module probably GPS-05 and earlier, but I would look at the firmware history to see what the latest support was added.
The RPM signal would connect to the RPM output on your MSD ignition. Other sensors would attached to the analog voltage channels using patch cables. Normally people with a Formula Mazda would configure oil Pressure, oil temp, water temp. Its possible to add optional sensors for steering, throttle and brake pressure, but this requires fabricating brackets and plumbing the brake pressure sensors.
