Who knows about streched Lola T204 FF?
I have a Lola T204 FF that has had the frame modified to make a longer wheelbase car. As the "legend" goes a few (6-10) of the later cars were modified by the importer to increase the wheel base and make it more suitable for the US tracks. I have seen other cars with the suspension points relocated but my car has had the frame cut behind the driver and stretched (about 6 inches). Attached is a photo that shows the added section. I guess the car was also hit in that area because of the square reinforcement patch on the left side. It appears that right is undamaged showing a diagonal cut and an overlapping brazed joint. Any information would be helpful.
Also I am in the market for any body work pieces anyone has too offer. The center section piece and body are not original to the car so I need to cut and stretch them so if you have damaged pieces I'm interested. I know I can get new from the UK, but they will still need to be modified.
Contact Person for Long Lola 204
I raced vintage FFs with a Nathan John (BIG_TEXAN) who drove a stretched Lola 204. He moved out of Texas but he's on the forum and as far as I know he still has the car.
I've Got One - And It Is Lengthened
Chuck and Group,
Sorry right off the bat for the title, I could not resist.
I have owned one of the lengthened Lola's for the last five years. While I have heard legends about several of these cars being built, you are the first person (other than me) that I have ever heard of actually having one. The picture you posted looks different than the frame configuration on my car, for instance I do not have a lateral bar forward of the "lengthening area" as your car does. I would be happy to answer any questions you have, and can supply pictures if that would be helpful.
Best Regards
Nathan
