I am servicing the shocks on my car, and not able to
cross reference any in web search. I believe they are
Bilstein, although searches on their site come up empty,
These are gas pressure mono tube.
Appear to be Bilstein but ??
s/n 36047180113 360/100
These are from the rear, and the numbers
are same side to side.
Anyone have any idea as to their Manufacturer??
recognize the numbering scheme??

Bilstein. The 360/100 represents the rebound/compression fixed valving
These numbers are an abbreviation representing 1/10 of the Newtons for that shock. For example, a valve rating of 275/78 means 2750 Newtons rebound and 780 Newtons compression. Higher numbers have firmer damping forces than lower numbers, thus a shock rated at 255/70 will be stiffer than one rated at 175/60.
And if my memory is correct - sometimes it has let me down - those forces are at the metric equivilant of 20 inches per second. Which is not a shock speed you will normally encounter in these type of cars.Quote:
