I got super hot on grid in my PFM last year. How do you use a cool shirt in your formula car? In my race 944 I have a large ice water box with pump to connect to cool shirt, works great! Nowhere to put that thing in the PFM.
Need your suggestions please. I won’t usually have a crew to help me with a fan etc.

You need a crew with an umbrella.
Coolshirt has a gokart system where everything is contained in a soft nylon bag.
I have no experience using one.
Cool shirt ice packs is probably the most practical but it would be possible to put a small cooler in fromt of the RT side rad with some creative plumbing or if money is no object there are setups like we use in Indycar. Big bucks but it works
In addition to the soft ice bag with pump for karters, the "cool - a - clava" works really well too.

im wondering about your plumbing suggestion. If I were to drill a hole in the cockpit for the chiller hose would the stresses cause thE carbon finer to crack? No, not an unlimited budget. What does Indy use?Quote:

On hot days i put my underwear and suit in my RV freezer. Just before I belt up my wife drops a couple of bags of blue ice gel beads down the back of my suit, just above my kidneys. Lasts about a half hour.
I'd chill my helmet too but not enough room in the freezer.
Helps to have a couple of pair of underwear so the sweat doesn't freeze.
