There is a kit that uses a Saab clutch slave cylinder along with an adaptor plate. It bolts to three holes that are used to mount an external seal around the input shaft in some VW cases - most have the three holes, some do not. The holes are threaded to a funny metric thread, I tap to 1/4" NC. The kit is available from several suppliers. It works extremely well, actually, I've installed several (I used to make the adaptors, but it's been a few years).

The Taylor race or the Pegasus solutions using the SAAB cylinder work very well & worth doing. I installed & have used for several years. Plumbing it up is straight forward.
But it will depend which case you have, Some have the 3 holes ready drilled & tapped, some have the correct casting but no holes (just need to locate, drill & tap) and some casings 'the early ones from memory' have no easy method to install. As per previous contact one of the suppliers if you need help but know what case you have first.
I have the oldest case with no apparent boss or casting to tap - any solution other than a new case? Bought a Saab slave and found no way last year.
I think Craig did a pedistal that went into the seal bore of those old cases. A seal was fitted to the pedistal. Would have used a Saab cylinder, I think. Call Scotty and see if I am right.
Carl is correct, we make a pedistal that is a shrink fit. The seal is re-located into the pedistal itself. You will heat up around the input shaft bore , then plug in the pedistal.
