Yo,

Have owned one of my dream bikes for about a year now and thought it was about time I posted some photos on here.

Anyway, its YOSM066 (an ex Jez frame) built up with Bomber Z2’s, King headset, 517s on Hopes, TNT cranks, Ritchey 2x9 shifters and rings, XT/XTR mechs and brakes, Hyperlite bar, Ringle stem (thanks Lucifer), Thomson post.

It’s a bit too small but still rides beautifully. Searching for a turquoise Ringle stem and seatpost...

Beautiful! This has to go down in MTB history as one of the coolest factory paint schemes out there.

I really dig your bike - love those short, straight handlebars. Very retro!

Definitely a nice build! I like the 2x9 gripshift setup. From what year or period is that system?

I think the 2x9 system dates from about 1997. It's listed in the 1997 Ritchey catalogue.

The Ritchey components were on the bike when I bought it. They're OK but I'm not a big fan of gripshift systems and think I'll change to a 94 period Shimano setup when I get round to it.

I've been looking for some Ritchey 2x9 parts for a while, so if you ever want to sell them please let me know :D

Solo,

please remove the pix. the bike is far to beautiful to be looked at. reminds me of Nigel Tuffnel's guitar - "don't look at, don't even point. it can't be played"
